  1. Supposing it was a North American tribe, I looked in several relatively complete lists of tribe names contained in books (listed below) and found nothing like Chiripa.  Is that spelled right?  In looking for "almost" spellings, it would help to have a geographic area to look in.

  2. Chiripa TRIBE?

    There is a Chiripa, Bolivia.

It's an archaeological site located in the Lake Titicaca region of Bolivia, associated with the Tiahuanaco culture, and was occupied between 1000 BC to 1100 AD.

The Tiahuanaco Empire dominated portions of what is now Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia in South America for four hundred years (AD 550-950). The capital city, also called Tiahuanaco, was located on the southern shores of Lake Titicaca, on the border between Bolivia and Peru.

Chiripá is also a Tupí language spoken in Paraguay, Brazil, and also Argentina.  It is slowly being phased out as a language.

If this is what you are looking for, you might want to check under the Tiahuanaco Empire / Culture of Bolivia.

TONS of information, you just might be looking under the wrong thing.

If this isn't what you are looking for, sorry, but I've never heard of a Chiripa Tribe per se.....unless it's the people FROM Chiripa.
