  1. Mice live like 1-3 years i think.

They make really great pets, but you have to earn their trust before you can hold them and trust me they can easily slip out of your hand when they are young! They are nice, but when they are young they nibble your fingers soemtimes, and it doesn't really hurt. They are just taste-testing the odd thing in their cage! I don't think they really have to have baths, that would be quite hard to do. My brother has 2 males and they are sweet, i don't know about females.

  2. they aren't very social. I've had 2 females before. They never bit me or anything. But they'll p**p and pee on you and nothing can stop it lol. They're not very affectionate either. I wouldn't suggest a bath cuz they probably would bite you if you did that lol. I'd suggest a rat if you're looking for something affectionate who wouldn't hurt you. They're the best rodent.

I have kept them for years. And they can be a ton of fun, but primarily not the best pets for too much handling. They are tiny, and very aware and excitable. Females are normally more flightly than males. But on the other hand, males have more of an odor. Still, nothing a good cage change can't fix.

All animals with a mouth can bite. But all animals will onyl bite if you give them reasons to. Mice will bite only as a last resort to protect themselves. When you first get them, leave them alone for at least the first few days, if not more. Then, start slow, first by just touching them, and then to holding them.

You should never bathe them. They spend as much time grooming as cats, and will never need your help with cleaning. If they do get dirty, just dampen a paper towel, and rub the dirst off. Bathing can easily lead to dwrwoning since when they get scared, they are hard to hold.

All animals are capable of having illnesses and diseases, That said, if you get any kind of animal, not matter how great or small, you should entitle them to vet care if needed. For something like mites, you can get medication at a vets'. But something like mites will only occur through lack of cage cleaning. Other illnesses you can learn about in the sites.

They normally live to 2 years, sometimes 1-3.

One thing you should know is that they are very social animals. They do a lot better with other mice, rather than alone. Males however tend to fight, so for your first, either get only one male, or a few females. Sicne the females do very well with eachother, there is no reson to keep them alone.

  5. I rescued a wild mouse and alot of sites say they are very sweet. They also live to 5 years! Since they are from the wild. Mines only a week or so old but I am looking forward to him growing up and walking around.

I would not give a mouse a bath, MAYBE  if they are babies and need to be cleaned but when they are mature they can clean themselves. Here is a great link and will answer alot of your questions

That is a great site read it through and good luck!

Also if you ever rescue an orphaned mouse read that site above it helped me sooo much.

    Again, good luck!

  6. I've bred mice in the past, personally i love them they're miles more entertaining than other rodents I've had, they like to sit on your shoulder and play with you hair...the only problem is that they have no bladder control so they wee on you occasionally, i used to wear an old shirt when handling just in case apart from that there interesting and friendly creatures...my only other advice to you is this...do not buy a white mouse...the reason is that they were bred originally for labs and have been bred with genetic problems which could mean they die much younger....you'll find that the darker colored ones just tend to have more character about them!!!!
