Information on Centocelle, Rome, Italy?

Hi,

I just found out that I got my place to go abroad next year to Italy as part of my University course and was just wondering if anyone could tell me anything about Centocelle and that area- what's it like, how close is it o the centre of Rome, how easy is it to get there etc... any info will be greatfully received as I've never even been to Rome before!!

Centocelle :(

not one of the best areas  in Rome..

is not close to the center, but there are buses that will connect you easily.

centocelle is not exactly the best neighborood in rome!

it's not that far from the downtown,but it's not that cool....it's full of immigrates (don't wanna sound racist,it's just a fact that u will need to be much more carefully when around)....ops i don't wanna scare u....so let's go with the gd news).....the area is not far from Tor Vergata University (if there is where u'r going to)....which is also my Uni :P ,it is well connected with almost any part of rome and it has some pubs for the night life....

and it has quite a number of malls....
