I know that we have 23 pair, & all of that stuff.

But I'm looking for a web site that can tell me which chromosome is responsible for what.

For Example, If there is a Chromosome responsible for your skin color, I want to know which one it is.

Thanks =)

  1. I am sorry to say that this likely will not be too helpful. I think that our morphology/physiology etc is not specific to one chromosome. There might be small aspects from each of the chromosomes that work together to create such differences such as skin colour but I am not sure what they are. Look on (gasp) Wikipedia for each of the individual chromosomes. That will tell you at least a good place to start and even lists some genes and their products for some of them.

  2. it would be more worth while to look for which genes are responsible for specific characteristics.

  3. There are genes on the chromosomes which give different phenotypes. One entire chromosomes does not give only one characteristic.

  4. specific:

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mapview/map_...

    more general yet also specific:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromosomes

    just go down to where it say chromosome 1 and click on it and look at what's in it, then do that for the others too
