Information on Living in Mongolia Please!?

How is it to live in Ulaanbaatar just for a few months? Is Mongolia all together a decent, safe country in the city? I hear their urban population is growing, and when I saw videos of the capital I saw a bunch of people walking around talking in cell phones, and wearing modern clothes... so will it be a good experience to live there for 1-3 months?
