Does anyone know the calendar for the Spring admission? For example, I know that you usually go to school in January, but what about summer vacation? Do the people that apply for the Spring admission have a summer vacation? Also, if they apply for Spring admission does that mean that they're behind and it's nothing they can do about it, or does it mean that they would have to hurry and make the work up? Also, would those who applied for the Spring admission end up graduating at a different time than those who applied during the Fall admission?

  1. At the University I graduated from, the last day of Spring classes was the beginning of May and the first day was late Jan/early Feb.  Summer vaca was from May to late August.  It's up to you if oyu want to take summer classes or not, if not, you'll have a summer vacation.

In terms of when you begin classes: you won't be behind if you start in the spring rather than the fall b/c you're going to start with your core classes and work your way up to the higher level classes in order.  This will be the same no matter when you start.  Although, if you want to graduate, for example, when your friends graduate, you'll need to meet with an advisor and make sure you're taking enough classes per semester to graduate when you want to.  When I was in school, in order to graduate after four years, students needed to take summer classes and more than full-time classes during the year.  It took me five years b/c I didn't take summer classes and only took four classes a semester.

So, if you want to graduate in the Spring (after about 3.5 years), you would want to take some extra classes in the summer or some night classes to "catch up".  Another alternative is that you can go to the graduating ceremony in May and take your last few classes that summer (if you're a little behind).

A lot of students end up being at college for five years b/c they change their major while at college and end up having to stay longer b/c they have new class requirements.  Or they don't take their prerequisites in time and end up having to wait to take required courses.
