I want to buy a Walther P22 . 22 LR pistol. Can anyone please guide me about the most attractive color ( black, blued, nickel) i should choose? Please tell me also about its advantage and disadvantages.

What is factory laser? Is it a inbuilt laser or it has to be fixed as an extra accessory.

  1. I like the nickel finish on my Walther P-22.  It is a nice contrast with the black Polymer frame. Of course you pay a few dollars more for nickel.  The other optional finish I am aware of is a kind of baked black enamel.  That costs even more.  The standard blue finish is nice.  If I buy a second P-22 it'll be standard blue finish and probably with the 5" barrel rather than the 3" barrel mine currently has.

Mine also came with the factory laser sight.  It is a slip-on that locks into place.  That adds another hundred or so dollars to the total price but I like it.  A couple of other advantages to the Walther P-22:  You can order the extra 5" barrel and have two barrel lengths.  The extra barrel will cost as much as the laser sight.  And I like the extra grip-back that already comes with the pistol.  For my big hands the larger grip worked best.

All in all its a nice little pistol.  Mine prefers the hottest .22 LR ammo I can find for it.  It jams with subsonic .22s and sometime even with standard velocity .22 so I am currently using CCI Mini Mags.  So far these have worked flawlessly.

    Good luck.

  2. I like the pink, but, I suspect it's a 'chick' thing.

  3. The P22 now comes in an assortment of desert and normal cammo patterns along with the green, blue, and stainless.

Do not choose it by attractivness.  The finish of a small pistol designed to do one of three things...... be noticed (flashy), not be noticed (subdued for military or night use), or to protect the metals finish.

Stainless steel is a better choice for everyone since it is less prone to rust.  Stainless stell has a coarse grain to the metal - this is great since small dings or nicks can be easily removed by using a green art ereaser.  You can't easily repair the finish of a non-stainless firearm.

    Hope this helps

  4. I've just got the plain blue model. What a great .22 pistol. I did manage to crack the slide in two places somehow. It was fixed at no charge.
