  1. As a scuba dive instructor (Naui) I always trained my students to mix alcohol with white vinegar in a 50/50 mix.

The alcohol breaks the surface tension of the water held in your ear.  The mix of vinegar balances the 'PH" of the alcohol so it doesn't burn.

There are also similar products available over the counter.

You must do this every time you swim so your ear can get rid of the bacteria that forms when it is wet.  Remember, bacteria loves moist, dark and warm places.  The swimmers ear meets all those conditions.

Any ear inflammation, or infection can eventually impact the workings of the inner ear and balance.

Stay out of the water, keep the inside of the ears dry, get any infection cleared up.  Give the condition a chance to completely resolve.  It may take months.

Then do to a good dive shop and get some divers ear plugs.  They are not cheap, but are pressure balancing and effective.
