Information on importing plastic household items from India to UK?

I am an Indian living in London. I have very good contacts with plastic household manufacturers in India so there is no problem for sourcing. I can also contact shipping agent over there who can manage sending good from there. Can anyone please give me information about import duty,custom duty, excise and VAT on plastic household items to UK?is it good to take the service of any frieght forwarder/custom clearance agent?

You must contact your local Buisiness Link Office and you will find them very helpfull with all legal aspects of importing and customs   duty.
