  1. I have not read the book, but here are a couple of links that may help you.

  2. Well if you have read animal farm and researched Joseph Stalin it helps you understand this novel better. The main topics of this novel include complete control, manipulation, and rebellion...Go to Google or ask.com or yahoo.com and type in and do a little research on Joseph Stalin, the Red army and you will be able to understand this book a lot better. George Orwell wrote this book mainly about Joseph Stalin and the former Soviet Union. The main character in this book symbolizes Leon Trotsky. The thought police is symbolic of the red army.

  3. i think i read it when i was in school and younger and hadn't a clue what it was about.

i read it just recently (mid twenties, college grad) and found it fascinating... i can clearly relate the story to the world today and it gives a very glum view of what the future *could* be.... it's dark... scarey because i can so easily see elements of it in our world today.

i would of never gotten that 10-15 years ago though.

read it... if you dont' get it, read it again later :)

  4. I think you're just fishing for answers when you didn't read the book yourself.

  5. "Big brother is watching"  But, with all that information how does he know what to pay attention to?
