Inge Dekker grabs Women’s 50m freestyle gold medal – Jose Finkel Trophy
Inge Dekker of FIAT/MINAS grabbed gold medal of the Women’s 50m freestyle on day two of the 2012 Jose Finkel Trophy in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Tuesday, August 21.
Dekker, who made her way into the final round as top fastest swimmer, lived up to the expectations of her supporters by occupying gold medal of the discipline. She geared up her pace in the playoff and spoiled the party of her challengers by securing gold
medal of the event.
With her astonishing efforts, she remained just a touch ahead of her following rival as she submitted a time of 24.15 seconds for gold medal.
Her title claiming effort remained 0.11 seconds ahead of her toughest challenger, Marieke Katherine Gueher of CRF/RJ, who snared silver medal of the race by submitting a time of 24.26 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Alessandra Marchioro of FFC/RJ, who remained 0.46 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing blockade for bronze medal with an effort of 24.72 seconds.
Marchioro was followed by Graciele Hermann of GNU, who stayed 0.08 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and hit the wall with a timing of 24.80 seconds for fourth position.
Hermann was chased by Larissa Martins Oliveira of ECP/SABESP, who remained 0.21 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and completed her race in a time of 25.01 seconds for fifth position.
Similarly, sixth fastest spot of the discipline was secured by Daynara Ferreira Paula of CRF/RJ, who remained just an arm stroke apart and settled on the finishing wall with a timing of 25.15 seconds.
Paula was trailed by Flavia Delaroli-Cazziolato of ECP/SABESP, who suffered a loss of only 0.03 seconds from her former finisher and secured seventh best place of the event with an effort of 25.18 seconds.
Delaroli-Cazziolato was traced by Daniele Paoli Jesus of ECP/SABESP, who remained one body length away from overpowering her and appeared on the wall as eighth fastest swimmer with a timing of 26.07 seconds for eighth position.
Dekker was delighted with her scintillating form in the single lap freestyle event and collected her accolade after the session.
