Inge Dekker secures Women’s 50m butterfly crown: Day six – 2011 Jose Finkel Trophy
Netherlands’ Inge Dekker put up a great performance on day six of the 2011 Jose Finkel Trophy in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on Sunday, September 4. The session of the meet conducted the Women’s 50m butterfly final.
In the corresponding swim, Dekker hit the wall in 26.56 seconds to win the gold medal. The time was under her previous meet record of 25.57 seconds, set back in March, 2011. While speaking about her swim, Inge Dekker stated that she was really contented
and pleased with her individual splash in the final meet. She further added that she will continue with her winning form for futuristic events.
Dekker earned the golden crown in the Women’s 4x100m freestyle final meet at the 2008 Olympic Games, in Beijing. In the corresponding race, Inge secured the gold medal in the 2009 edition of the World Championships, in Rome. At the 2011 World Championships,
Dekker secured two gold medals in the Women’s 50m butterfly and 4x100m freestyle finals, in Shanghai.
In addition, she grabbed three gold medals in the 4x100m freestyle and one golden crown in the 4x200m freestyle events in the 2006, 2008 and 2010 editions of the World Championships, in Shanghai, Manchester and Dubai, respectively. Furthermore, she has also
won many European Championship titles in her career.
In the corresponding race, Daynara De Paula took home the silver medal on the podium by posting a winning time of 27.01 seconds and Daniele Jesus earned bronze medal with an impressive mark of 27.13. Rocha Lemos Caroline Bruna earned fourth place honours
with a matchless time of 27.24 seconds, while Antonio Mendes Dandara was placed fifth in a time of 27.35 seconds.
Vandenberg Kimberly settled sixth with a time of 27.53 seconds. In the corresponding meet, Coopeco Albino Kamila Roberta was placed seventh in a time of 28.03 seconds. Last, but not the least, Oliveira Martins Larissa earned eighth place honours in a time
of 28.29 seconds.
The arena applauded for the attention grabbing swims of all swimmers, while the winners were awarded accolades after the session’s completion.
