ok so i took this medicine that has 500mg of acetaminophen per 15ml, recommended dose 30ml. but for my symptoms, which as more allergy-like to me (runny stuffy nose, fluid cough etc) i read a pack of theraflu and it seems i shouldve taken that! it has 650mg though. i took the 1st cough syrup about an hour ago but i cant sleep at all due to my symptoms as the CS didnt seem to do anything and i know the theraflu works better. can i take it? i dont want to die or overdose im only 16 n i weigh 146 if that helps?

  1. you should wait a few hours before you take any more medication. i know its gonna be hard if you cant sleep now, but its not safe to mix medications in a short amount of time so i guess next time just make sure you take the right thing the first time. - sorry :(

  2. As a general rule of thumb you should never take a medicine that has acetaminophen if you already took acetaminophen (the same goes for any other drug).

  3. That's not likely to be fatal, or even dangerous; but it could give you an upset stomach, which is not conducive to sleep.
