Water is 10 years old in pool. Is it time to change it? If so, what do you recommend me to do after I get the pool drained? ie..acid wash etc..Is there various kind of washes you can get or just one?

After pool is all cleaned out and empty...how much would it cost me to have my pool filled up with water versus running a hose that will take days to fill up and run my water bill up for my home?

  1. Up around the 10 year mark, your TDS (total dissolved solids) is most probably pretty high and it would be a good idea to dump and acid wash it, if this is a concrete pool. ( I assume it is since you're asking about an acid wash).

As to if the  pool needs an acid wash or not, well, likely. Most pools will get some staining over time and should you dump the pool, that's the time to do it. Acid washing is the only wash you'll see being used on a concrete pool. Just rinsing with water will do nothing more for you that your normal vacc'ing will.

How much it'll cost to refill by garden hose depends on the water rates in your area and the pool volume. The rates are different everywhere. Same goes for trucked in water. Generally it's always cheaper to do it from your garden hose. You're not paying for fuel, the driver and the labour. It just takes a few days is all.

have a pool cleaner come over and clean it, it's

    the best way
