Inground swimming pool?

live in georgia, and I am wondering about how much it is to put in a inground swimming pool (just the standard rectangle 3-8 ft deep.? Does this include the pavement around the pool? diving board? etc.?

How much monthly for upkeep?

What are the pros and cons of pools with liners vs. the fiberglass looking pools?

And most importantly how much does it increase my property value? etc. any info would be helpful. As you can tell i have done no research, and just started giving this thought. Thank you!

  1. Don't know about cost.  I think you'd have to have a pool builder come over and give you an estimate.  I'd guess it's several thousand, though.  8' deep is not deep enough for a diving board.  Many areas don't allow diving boards and you also might have homeowner's insurance issues if you had a board.

Some real estate agents would tell you that a pool adds little or no value to your property and may even be a negative - people may see it as a hassle to take care of or a danger for their kids, etc.

  2. Not sure about all your ?s. I have an inground pool and the maintance is about 160 a month (including chemicals)....I met a guy that does his own independent cleaning and he only charges 120...and he comes every two weeks. I live in Houston...the prices might be different in Georgia.
