Does breathing in chemicals--such as nail polish remover, kill bug sprays, etc. really cause damage? I am NOT talking about doing this on purpose---just as it all builds up throughout someones life,,,

THANKS

  1. Depending on how carcinogenic the chemical is and the levels of exposure, there can be severe brain, lung and organ effects. Most laboratories or manufacturers that require employees to be exposed to some level of harmful chemical vapors have acceptable exposure levels they must adhere to. For Acetone, which is a prime component of nail polish remover, has an LDL (Lethal Dosage Level) of 1159mg. You would not meet or exceed this with intended nail polish remover usage, only by purposeful abuse of it.

JT Baker has a Saf-T-Training manual that can explain this better.
