The Spanish international has demonstrated a renewed enthusiasm to see his side win a fourth consecutive La Liga title.
The midfield maestro has expressed that the race for the Liga BBVA title is all open again and believes that the Catalan giants can go all the way and reclaim their title.
Although Iniesta admitted that Real Madrid are still ahead of them in terms of points, he has insisted that things have changed and anything can happen in the next few weeks.
As Barcelona emerged 4-0 victorious over Getafe on Tuesday night, the whole team appeared beaming with confidence as the league title they almost lost is back in contention again.
Earlier this year, Los Blancos boasted a 10-point lead over the current Spanish champions at the top of the Spanish Primera Division’s league standings. It seemed as though Jose Mourinho will finally break Barca’s dominance over Spanish football by
leading Madrid to their first La Liga title in three years.
However, the past few weeks saw Madrid’s lead reduce to only four points after a string of unfavourable results for Los Merengues.
As the Spanish capital-based side dropped points, the Catalans maintained their composure and kept performing at their best. Not surprisingly, this paid off and Barca’s impressive display in the Spanish Primera finally gotten them back on track in
the chase for the title.
Tuesday’s victory has reduced Real Madrid’s lead over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the league table to just one point. However, the Whites have played one game less and they will lock horns with their city rivals, Atletico Madrid, on Wednesday.
As the Madrid derby is expected to be a very competitive fixture, nothing can be said about how the table will look like once the midweek’s fixtures are played.
Iniesta has stated that his side will keep fighting till the end and hope to win all of their remaining matches.
While talking to reporters, the Spaniard quoted:
"Madrid are still the leaders. They have the advantage and a game in hand. Things have changed, but we will keep fighting to add three points with every game. That is what we want until the end. Madrid can win matches like the one on Wednesday. But
these derbies are always very intense."
With just one point separating the top two and El Clasico approaching in two week’s time, this certainly makes the title race more than interesting.
