The Spanish midfielder is of the opinion that even though the Supercopa is the first title of the season, it will not affect the season in anyway, but it will help the winning team gain confidence.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Real Madrid are going to be facing each other in order to win the first title of the upcoming season, the Supercopa de Espana.
The two teams who contest for this title are the winners of the Copa del Rey and the Spanish La Liga. In case a single team wins both these titles, the team finishing second in the league plays the table-toppers of the last season.
In this season’s scenario, Barcelona are the current Copa del Rey champions while Real Madrid are the current La Liga champions. Therefore, the two sides will be facing each other in order to win the first title of the upcoming season.
Even though many believe that this title, in this case, is going to help the other team grab the bragging right, Andres Iniesta believes that is not very important to win the Supercopa de Espana as it will not affect the season.
However, Iniesta added that whichever team is going to win the title, it will gain confidence right at the start of the season.
The rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid is the only thing that is making the upcoming Supercopa de Espana more interesting than ever. These two sides also fought for the same title last season and the two-legged fixture finished with Barcelona winning
the title.
While speaking about the Supercopa de Espana, Andres Iniesta said:
"It is important for us because it is the first title, against the current league champions. But the Supercopa will not affect the season.”
"Obviously the aim is to win it, to do as well as possible. It is part of our preparations over these two months. The winner will gain morale and confidence compared to the loser, but it is just the start."
Barcelona and Real Madrid recently had their respective pre-season friendly fixtures. While Barcelona were able to win their game against Manchester United on penalties, Real Madrid tore AC Milan apart by winning their respective fixture 5-1.
