The midfield maestro has taken out time to take a jibe at the veteran manager, claiming that his comments regarding La Roja mean nothing.
Spain’s Andres Iniesta has slammed the remarks made by Real Madrid’s head coach, Jose Mourinho, reasserting that he considers answering him to be a waste of time.
The player, who recently acclaimed the honour of becoming the best player of Euro 2012, defended his national side and stated that he is rooting for his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296, to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
Iniesta’s statement regarding the Madrid boss has come in reply of the comments made by the former Porto coach regarding the Spanish national side.
La Furia Roja were held to a draw in their first match of this year’s European Championship. Their opponents, Italy, managed to put up a great challenge for the European champions and forcefully earned a point from the massively competitive fixture.
As a result, Mourinho offered to present his analysis of the match and stated that the ‘false nine’ tactics adopted by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 del Bosque were not the right style of play and that they have become less potent in front of goal due to the fact that they play
without a forward.
The Portuguese trainer was of the opinion that the Reds must up their game in their upcoming matches, while satirically hinting that the World champions played too defensively.
While many would have chosen to agree with the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan boss, Iniesta has spoken out in great contradiction to the opinion of the Blancos coach.
While talking to reporters, the 28-year-old was quoted as saying:
"Those were opportunistic comments because of the draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926. Commenting on such remarks is a waste of time. We won the tournament with that system and these players, and that is something we should not forget."
"I am very happy to be considered the best player of the Euros. It is great because your work on the field is acknowledged. This is even better because we were champions. I had very good feelings prior to the tournament, but I never thought about being the
best player.”
The Spanish national team will be seen in action once again this summer as they are set to compete in the London Olympics 2012.
