Inis Meain to progress further by landing the Dundrum House Hotel Golf & Leisure Resort Handicap  
Twelve three-year-old and above runners have registered for the Dundrum House Hotel Golf & Leisure Resort Handicap at Tipperary over a mile, four furlongs and 100 yards on Tuesday, 24th July. The race will reward the winner with the prize money of €5,175 to take back to the connections.
Majority of the line-up has not won since quite a while with the exception of the five-year-old bay gelding, Inis Meain, who has just struck a back-to-back. Denis Gerard Hogan’s entry for the race today has been active nine times during the season and out of those ventures has credited three against his name as successes.
Bernstein’s bay gelding posted the first seasonal success on 23rd February, 2012 in the Holy Cross 5YO Maiden Hurdle at Thurles over two miles. Paired up with jockey, D. G. Hogan for the race, the five-year-old remained the centre of attention of the race, and his grip over the track was so firm that even the a mistake during the closing stages of the race made Inis Meain won by an amazing margin of eleven lengths.
He set Charming Ways second and the favourite entry of the race, Silver Shuffle, filled up the third slot behind the winner.
Failure in the next two races gave the Liam O’Kelly owned victory in the Michael Kenny Memorial Apprentice Handicap on 16th July, 2012 at Killarney over a mile and three furlongs. The rider, Ronan Whelan, and Inis Meain, took off from the fourth gate and won the race as effortlessly as can be possible. He eased through the wire by the margin of 4 ¾ lengths.
Little Green settled as the favourite runner-up of the race.
Bred by the Castleton Lyons, the five-year-old won the Leopardstown Apprentice Handicap on 19th July, 2012 at Leopardstown over a mile and two furlongs. Entered as the favourite, the American bay gelding won by the significant margin of 4 ¼ lengths.
Finishing the closest to the winner was, Regal Tramp.
The distance over which the bay gelding out of mare, Runaway Fields, has to race today is longer than his last try however, his jockey, Ronan Whelan, is a familiar figure to race with.
