Inismore Impact takes the lead in the Claydon Racing At Witney 01993 771314 Gold Cup Heat 3
The third heat of the Claydon Racing At Witney 01993 771314 Gold Cup has brought together some really versatile hounds like Rockview Sail, Thinkingoutloud, Daddys Round, Ballymac Drogba, Inismore Impact and Mash Mad Monkey. The 450 metres flat race will be held at Oxford on Saturday, 20th October and carries the prize money of £150.
The most deserving connections for the prize money are Inismore Impact’s. His last six outings were at the open level, out of which he could win only twice.
Royal Impact’s son won the Greyhound Data Maiden Trophy – Division B on 23rd September, 2012 at Coventry over 485 metres. Entered as the favourite, the fifth trap raced away from the competition quickly, and then maintained the lead until the wire, concluding the race in 29.92 seconds.
Missing the chance and failing to the second position was, Swift Giggs. Filling in the third spot was, Farloe Handy.
The Heat & Combustion Ltd Trophy – Division B on 30th September, 2012 saw the K. Hutton trained struggling for the winner’s spot, but ended up in the fifth slot as the race was won by, Forest Force.
The least time for completing the trip was, 29.57 seconds.
Pulling up form, the two-year-old out of, Lovely Rumble, laboured up to the second position in the Brandon Standard – Division C on 7th October, 2012 at Coventry over 485 metres.
The winner, Shaneboy Charlie, was from the fifth trap, and Inismore Impact himself broke from the fourth. Both ended with the gap of 2 ¾ lengths at the wire.
Setting into an early pace and taking lead from the third position did not aid him in capturing the race.
Catching up with the third position was, Oneco Frankel.
He finally switched back to form on 13th October, 2012 in the Expmet Cup – Blanchford Standard at Oxford over 450 metres.
The initial pace and the lead had him on the other end of the wire in 27.16 seconds.
He will race in orange after drawing the fifth trap, and it is not the first time that he has to race and win from this box.
