Ok, well this study at this college near my town asked me to do some testings on marijuana, here is part of the letter they sent me.

Volunteers must be current marijuana users or non-users of marijuana willing to participate as a control subject, be from 18 to 60 years, be right-handed, and be within commuting distance of Iowa City.

Several procedures are done in the study:

Positron emission tomography involves measuring blood flow and activity in different parts of your brain. We inject radioactive water and take pictures of how it flows through your brain while you lie quietly and do several types of mental tests. This takes up to about 4 hours.

Magnetic resonance imaging involves lying inside a large magnet to take a detailed picture of the structure of your brain, to match with the pictures of blood flow. This takes about 50 minutes.

(These procedures must be scheduled on a weekday, so the study cannot be done entirely on the weekend.)

  1. The radiation is about the same amount as is in an xray. All imaging has some risks so it is up to you.

I have had 3 MRI's with contrast but not of my head. Being totally still that long is hard

EDIT: if you would be willing to get half a dozen xrays for the same price then it is worth it to you risk wise. Radiation goes all through your body and stays there no matter how it is administered. it takes about 30 years for radiation in the ground to disperse I would imagine it is about the same for people but you would be getting a very low dose........... Hope that helps

  2. Radioactive material is very dangerous,  but if it's radioactive water injected in your body - you must know 80% of your body is made of water and plus if it gets into your bloodstream (which is most likely where its going) you're going to have problems in your future life.

Tests like this are very dangerous ESPECIALLY if it's going through your brain! holy c**p!

Don't think you'll end up with superpowers,  this could freakin kill you and nobody would ever know!

I'm just saying,  DO NOT - repeat - DO NOT do this.

It is most defenetily NOT worth $600+,  infact it's not worth $5000+ either because it's a matter between:

    1) death

    2) sickness till you die

there is no good thing out of this.

the medical care you will require after these side effects will cost you 10 x more than you've earned throughout this,  and the contract you sign will assure the people will not get charged.

Don't do it,  for your own good!

  3. at very very  low levels, and a one time event, radioactive water would have no effect.

but i don't know how low those levels have to be.
