Injured Bird ?

Question

My cat Socks has caught a little brown bird and it has hurt its leg. It is still alive - just in shock. What is the best place to keep him until he can fly away again? Can I do anything for him?

Your best bet is a humane society or a veterinarian, they know exactly what to do, its for the best

Can't you take it to the vet?! Most vets, if they are decent, will just let you drop it off if you can't afford to pay, hopefully they will help anyway. I have taken in injured wild rabbits once, and another time a stray cat, they never charged me for them. Please do what you can to help the bird.

You should contact your local humane society or wildlife refuge immediately.  The humane society should be able to tell you if there's anyone in your area who offers wildlife refuge service  (it should be free!).  

I wouldn't wait too long...
