Injured Lotus Renault GP driver Robert Kubica showing signs of health – Formula 1 news
Injured Lotus Renault GP driver Robert Kubica is awake from induced coma and is moving fingers of his right hand which were almost lost in the rally crash on Sunday.

He crashed his Skoda in church wall when he was competing in the Ronde di Andora Rally in Italy.
He was operated upon for seven hours before he was kept in an induced coma. Renault team boss Eric Boullier said that his recovery will be very soon than suggested by the doctors.
He was briefly awakened by the doctors and he talked to his family and moved his hand which is good news for Renault team. He understood what has happened to him and he inquired about his co-driver Jakub Gerber.
He was again given medication of 24-hour sleep in which doctors will decide how to operate the injured elbow and leg. “The hand is warm and this means the operation went well,” said the surgeon Mario Igor Rossello.

On Monday doctors were not sure about the time in which Kubica will recover fully after he had lost a lot of blood. Also, the news was that the abdominal and thoracic organs of Kubica have been compromised slightly. However, now there is a chance he
will get back in the car half way in the 2011 season.
“When you have a big crash like Robert suffered on Sunday doctors always predict the worst case scenario,” said Boullier when he visited Kubica along with Vitaly Petrov.
Rossello said that it will take six days to check the proper functioning of the hand.
Former Renault general manager Flavio Briatore visited him and said the recovery process of Kubica is better than expected and that he will recover soon.
In best case scenario, it will take at least three months for Kubica to recover, as suggested by team principal Eric Boullier, so the team will have to look out for a replacement for at least the first 7 grands prix of the 2011 Formula 1 season.

The two names in the line-up for Renault are Bruno Senna and Roman Grosjean. Both have never scored a point so there is a word that the team might want Nick Heidfeld or Nico Hulkenberg to drive for them.
Fernando Alonso visited Kubica and wished him best of luck. Michael Schumacher has also left a tweet saying, “I am still upset by the news about Robert Kubica. It is shocking...just terrible.”
Team Principal Eric Boullier was asked about Kubica competing in Rally and Eric said that Renault allows him to do that to remain fit and added, “Robert doesn’t go two days without driving.”
