Injured Lotus Renault driver Robert Kubica set to leave hospital very soon – Formula 1 news
Recent reports have revealed that Formula 1 team Renault’s injured driver Robert Kubica is recovering quickly and is set to leave the hospital in the last days of April.
However, sources added that Kubica will only decide himself when will he leave the hospital, as he is now well enough. Doctors discussed Kubica’s current condition and said that he could be discharged from the hospital very soon, because now he is able to
put his weight on his damaged foot.
Renault team manager Daniele Morelli said, “Robert at the moment must keep his focus only on his recovery.”
Team manager also reported that his injured driver is improving very well and it has really surprised his hospital’s doctors.
The 26-year-old injured driver is quickly recovering from his injuries that he sustained in a horrible accident, during the rally race in February. According to sources, Kubica plans to attend the beatification ceremony of the late Pope John Paul II, on
May 1, 2011.
The Polish driver has underwent surgeries four times until now. The first three operations improved his poor condition, and the fourth one was performed for his elbow’s quick recovery.
On the other hand, Renault driver Nick Heidfeld is performing very well on the grid, in place of Kubica. He made his very impressive run in the Malaysian Grand Prix, where he finished his third fastest run for the team. After the race, Heidfeld shared his
feelings with the media and said that he wants Kubica back on this grid and that he performs for his team in the remainder of 2011 season.
He added, “I printed your logo on the front of my helmet, and the Polish flag on the side. I wanted you to see that and to let you know that I'm thinking of you. I wanted to show your fans that you are a part of Formula 1 and of this team.”
After its superb run in the Chinese Grand Prix, the team is ready for a positive upcoming race weekend in Turkey, which will start on May 8, 2011.
