Injured Robert Kubica overwhelmed with fans response over his injury - Formula 1 update
Formula 1 Renault team injured driver, Robert Kubica has responded to his fans with a huge amount of thanks, as they supported him since his high-speed rally crash in Italy, back in February.
Kubica said, "I have been literally submerged by letters and various gifts and objects and it seems the flow is not slowing down. I also want to thank all the people in the world of F1 who showed in various manners their concern for the difficult situation
I'm in."
A few days ago, some sources revealed that Kubica has recovered quickly and is set to leave the hospital, may be in the last days of April. The driver admitted that he is in much better condition than before and plans to leave the hospital in the up-coming
ten days.
Doctors have discussed the injured driver’s current condition and said that he could be discharged from the hospital very soon, because he is now able to put his weight on his damaged foot.
Renault team manager, Daniele Morelli said, "Robert at the moment must keep his focus only on his recovery."
The 26-year-old driver has quickly recovered from the injuries he sustained in the horrific accident, which had threatened to end his F1 career. Reporters have informed that Kubica has set a plan to attend the beatification ceremony of the late Pope John
Paul II, on May 1, 2011.
The Polish driver has undergone four surgeries until now. The first three operations made much perfection in his poor condition, but the fourth one was performed for his elbow’s quick recovery.
Renault driver, Nick Heidfeld, is performing very well on the grid in place of Kubica. The German driver made a very impressive run in the Malaysian Grand Prix, where he finished his third fastest run for the team. After the race, Heidfeld shared his feelings
with the media and said that he wants Kubica back on the grid.
Kubica was flattered with the response fans have given him and said, “I must admit that it's been overwhelming and, yes, it's helped me a lot. I really didn't realise that quite this many fans were supporting me. I'm very flattered and I promise them that,
when I'm back, I'll give them my absolute best.”
The Polish driver appreciated all the drivers of the Formula 1 teams and added that they are performing very well with the new rule of 107 percent. Kubica wished to get back on the F1 grid as soon as possible.
All teams are now moving towards the venue for the preparation of the Turkish Grand Prix that will start on May 8.
