  1. Wow thats a loaded question. First where do you live if its Michigan for get it. I broke my back at work and got nothing.

Depends on your State. Also did you go right to the hospital and make a report when it happened.  You will need to go to many specialists & prove you had no prior injurys before this accident. Also if you sue them your life then becomes an open book.

I would make sure you get an MRI, a Nucliar bone scan, & see a very very good back specialist.  you may have just pulled your back. You may be out of linement. I would go to a Chiropractor. if you dont have any blown discs.

good luck you will need it. P.S- SSD takes 7 years if you get it.

  2. Unfortunately, the answer to this question completely depends on the situation.  In theory, Workers Compensation Insurance pays for your medical bills, rehabilitation and a percentage of your income while you are out of work (disability).  In theory they COULD pay you for your entire life, but the insurance company would offer you a settlement long before that.

However, if you are claiming permanent disability, they will send their doctors to review your charts and examine you and WILL find out if you are faking an injury to get money out of them.

Did you turn in a report of injury when you were injured?  Did you go to the doctor immediately?  If the answer to either of these questions is no, then you are going to have a very difficult time proving that this work injury is what caused ALL of your pain.  If the answer to both of these questions is yes, then you may have a leg to stand on here.  Speak to the Workers Compensation adjuster that contacts you regarding your injury and ask them how the process works, they should be able to explain it to you in great detail.

Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon.
