Injured shoulder: Tennessee Titans yet to update TE Jared Cook’s status – NFL News
Tennessee Titans tight end Jared Cook’s status stayed as questionable until filing of this report on Monday as none of the team’s officials provided an update about his shoulder injury that had forced him out of the game versus Detroit Lions on Sunday when
it was almost halfway through.
Jared watched the second half of the game on the sidelines without his shoulder pads on while his team desperately struggled through deep waters to register their first win to stay alive in the American Football Conference (AFC) South division.
He injured his left shoulder on the final drive of the second quarter of the game while attempting hard on a seven-yard catch, quickly moving on the sidelines after that, before rushing to the locker room.
Apparently, after the initial inspection by the team’s medical staff on the sidelines he was listed as questionable for the rest of the game and although he appeared on the sidelines, his casual attire did not reflect on his readiness for a comeback.
The Titans were lucky to win the game at the end without Jared but the team is still to update his status as far as the injury is concerned.
It was not clear if the player had been through any scans later on, and unless the team officially provides the latest status his chances for the next game are uncertain. It will be a setback for the player and also for the Titans if the tight end’s injury
proves to be a serious one and he misses more than a game.
His performance is crucial to the team’s overall effort and victory chances and if he is out of the side for any longer period, the team can be affected at his position to an extent.
Even in the last game he put up a strong show before being forced on the sidelines. His performance record of the game was four catches for total 77 yards.
It is hoped the team updates his prospects for the rest of the season, particularly for the next weekend’s game in a couple of days. Even without an update if the player is no showing in Wednesday’s practice his return to action by next Sunday might be difficult.
