is there another line you can call if asking about your refund if you filed a injured spouse claim everytime i call1 800 829 0582 ext.462 and they keep telling me different stories i was wondering if there was another ext. im suspossed to use. i filed in march and still have not heard anything

  1. I'm not familiar with that extension. You can always call 1-800-829-0922, which is the accounts management line. There's a certain time frame that these cases have to be worked. Injured spouse claims usually take 8-11 weeks to process. If you're expecting a direct deposit and it's been more than 11 weeks, or if you're expecting a check and it's been more than 14 weeks, the phone representative has procedures to follow that will help resolve the problem.


  2. The injured spouse form requires that both your tax return and the form is processed.  It's not unusual for the process to take 14 weeks. Because of the stimulus, 2007 will be the slowest year evar.  Even if you filed 3/1, 14 weeks isn't up yet.

    Once 14 weeks are up, the assistor can do a referral form...and then will tell you it could be another 30-45 days.
