ok....so i am 13 and i am starting training for a half marathon in july. i was at my friends house and my pinky toe accidentally got smashed in a wooden door. It is bruised all over and it hurts to walk (i can walk on it if i put more pressure on the inside of my foot) luckily the hurt toe is not on my dominate foot....but i was wondering if this was going to affect my training any? and how long do you think it will talk to stop hurting when i walk?

  1. You should rest it and put some ice on it rub on it. It will affect your training. It will make you go faster because you are pushing yourself to the limits. It will take a couple of days. You should be fine because it is nothing too serious.

  2. i tink you need to take about a week off and see how that feels.

my dad is a runner and he nearly cut off his entire toe.....but thats a different story. he got stitches and as back on the track in a month.

so im guessing a week would do for you.....

    also ICEEEE!!! and elevate

im sure your familar with the whole RICE formula.

    R:rest

    I:ice

    C:compress

    E:elevate

  3. well, it depends if it hurts to run. if u can run on it with hurting, then yes u can run...if u cannot run without hurting, then no running.

as for the bruise, hold some ice on it and it will make the swelling go down and it will help it.

    good lock on your half-marathon!

  4. i wouldnt run on it bc it would make it worse and u might want to get it checked out! just try not to put so much pressure on it. good luck!Ü
