Injuries force four key Texans to miss Colts game – NFL News
As many as four key Houston Texans players missed their game against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night due to their respective injuries.
First one to go was their wide receiver Andre Johnson. He was expected to be out of the game because of his hamstring injury. He failed to show up for the game.
This was Johnson’s third straight miss due to the injury, while ninth in total this season. He had missed six consecutive games to the same injury earlier this year, and remained inactive for the game against the Colts. His absence
had led to some problems for the rookie quarterback Taylor Jonathan (T.J.) Yates, but did not affect the Texans much.
Other player who sat out the Colts game was Houston Texans’ guard Mike Brisiel. The player is nursing his knee injury. His status also remains unclear for the Texans’ last game of the current regular National Football League (NFL)
season.
Brisiel was replaced by Antoine Caldwell to play at his position. He might get another chance with the Texans in case Mike Brisiel is ruled out for the next game.
The injury list also included the cornerback Sherrick McManis. McManis was out on the sideline due to an ankle injury. He is likely to join his squad for the next game.
Last but not least Texans’ player who was out of the side was their safety Sherrick McManis. He injured his ankle in the Texans last game and failed to recover timely enough to play Thursday’ night game.
There was no confirmation from the Texans yet if they are going to place any of these players on their injured reserve (IR) list. They are already without their quarterbacks Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart for foot and collarbone
injuries, respectively, for rest of this season.
Despite their continuous problems with injuries the Texans have still managed to pull off another win, this time against the Indianapolis Colts.
The side is without their key players due to injuries for over a month now, but still managed to claim the American Football Conference (AFC) south title and make it to playoff. This is their first berth in playoff in their franchise
history.
While Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart have been ruled out of the rest of the current NFL regular season, the team management expects the wide receiver Andre Johnson most probably joining them in the playoff. It will be a good boost
for the team to play their first playoff season.
