There is always a need because of which everything exists in the world and the humans are no different. Talking of the body movements, it is vital that a person performs the activity to the capacity of his or her body. On the other hand, this capacity is not present in the body but generated through some special movements, activities or exercises. The world of sports is not different and there are various examples to quote from. Whatever the sport may be, capacity building is essential for athletes around the world.
The exercises may vary from one sport to another, but the bottom line is that no one can just jump on the ground and start playing without having proper training. Exercises and various supporting activities should be added to the schedule of every sports person alongside regular training. Few exercises have even become a part of the training programs because of its importance on the performance of a player.
Aquatic Plyometric Training (APT) is one such training that needs explanation. It is done in order to boost energy to jump higher in the air. It is particularly practiced by volleyball players around the world. However, the question that begs to be explained is that is this exercise doing its magic? If it is doing so, then can it completely remove the problems of all players?
The importance of this training program is seen in volleyball and swimming in which a player has to have muscular as well as bone strength. The training program is known as APT, which has been designed especially for the players for minimizing the risks of injuries. It can cure muscular soreness by increasing effective joint functioning; enhance power to strike and increase the stability of performance. According to a study done in the University of Zagreb, Horvacanski Zavoj, Croatia, this training is a must in helping the player jump vertically in the air without causing any harm to his/her muscles; or even bones. According to another study done in the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, USA, it plays a vital role in improving the high jump of female players in volleyball. First of all, lets see which areas of this training facilitates Volleyball players.
1)   Squad Jump ( SJ)
2)   Drop Jump (DJ)
3)   Counter Movement Jump With the Arm Swing ( CMJA)
4)   Counter Movement Jump ( CMJ)
Another question which begs to be asked is whether this training helps in volleyball only or increased the muscular strength of the players as well?  Perhaps the answers can be gained from the ongoing incidents and injuries in volleyball matches. Extensive training programs have also caused a number of injuries to players around the world. Similar questions arose in the mind of the viewers after watching the injuries that have taken place in volleyball matches.
Perhaps the trainers should find some more supporting exercises and tools which can cover the deficiencies of the players. Perhaps APT is simply not enough for the players to improve their strength in the field.
