Injury Update: Nani to face Birmingham City
Inform Manchester United winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 may well be travelling to St Andrews after all.
The Portuguese winger was absent from Sunday's fixture against Sunderland owing to a hip injury, but Sir Alex confirmed that Nani would be available for the tricky trip to the midlands. Midfielder Darren Fletcher's situation depends on his recovery from
the cold he has been suffering for the past week, which also kept him out from the Boxing day fixture.
"Nani's been feeling his hip a little bit in the last couple of days, so we left him out. I think he should be ready for the Birmingham game. Fletcher had a bit of a cold, he came down with it this morning and we couldn't take any chances with it," claimed
the Manchester United manager.
With Birmingham not playing a fixture in nearly two weeks, the side is fresh and has suffered just one home loss the entire season. This key fact is well known to Sir Alex Ferguson, who is vary of the threat posed to his side by his fellow Scotsman. The
trip to Birmingham comes just after two days since United have played Sunderland and Ferguson claimed that a trip to Birmingham is never easy.
"They'll be fresh and going down there's always a difficult place to go to. They've got a strong home record and they're difficult to beat on their own ground. We're well aware of that and hopefully we can get the players fresh, give them their recovery
tomorrow and make maybe a couple of changes to freshen that part up and hopefully we can get the result we want," stated the Manchester United coach.
