Injury forces forward T.J. Galiardi to leave Germany and come back to hometown in North America
T. J. Galiardi, a Canadian-America professional ice hockey player, who plays for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL), suffered a knee injury playing in Germany and now would be returning to his hometown in North America.
Galiardi was in a very good form and had been scoring goals and assists for the German side, in the second division of the German league but he was very fortunate to the catch the knee injury which will sideline for some time now.
Although he has suffered the injury but he is already training with his old team Calgary Hitmen, who play in the Western Hockey League (WHL). The injury is said to be not too serious and hopefully he would be in action once again and it still remains unsure
if they forward would be travelling back to Germany in near future.
Talking to Herald, the 24 year old centre told that he thought he should do some training with his former team because he was feeling a little bit okay with it and he was having fun. He thinks that Calgary Hitmen players are good guys and it is going to
help him in starting once again as he said,
“I figured I'd get some practices in with my old team. I feel a little old right now. But that’s OK. The guys are good guys. All hockey teams are fun and it’s only a matter of time before we start chirping each other.”
Galiardi played for San Jose Sharks in the previous season and represented Colorado Avalanche in three seasons before moving to Sharks. He wants to return to NHL and wants the lockout to end like all the other players.
The Calgary, Alberta native wants to return but made it clear that they would not do compromise and still stand by their demands, as he said,
“Of course we’d all rather be playing right now rather than doing what each individual guy is doing. It’s a little frustrating. But the thing is, we’re not going to sign a bad deal just so we can play”.
