Injury scare for Albie Morkel ahead of World T20 opener – Cricket News Update
South Africa are sweating over the fitness of all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JA-Morkel-c1613, who is battling lower back spasms, picked up during World Cup warm-up match against New Zealand, on Monday.
The 31-year-old left-handed batsman, who also bowls right-arm medium pace, played a belligerent cameo of 15 runs from four balls, hitting two boundaries and a towering six, as the Proteas posted an intimidating 186 for 6. However, he

South African team manager Mohammad Moosajee later told media reporters that Morkel had complained of pain in his back after batting as well.
"He first felt the pain when he hit the six while he was batting, but he thought that it was something minor," the Proteas team manager said during a media encounter after his side’s nine-run win over the Black Caps. "He aggravated
it while he was bowling and came off as a precautionary measure to receive treatment from our physiotherapist (Brandon Jackson),” he added further.
Moosajee further said that the all-rounder will be monitored by team’s medical staff overnight, and will be sent for an MRI on Tuesday morning, if felt necessary.
“If he doesn't improve substantially by tomorrow (Tuesday) morning he will have to have an MRI scan," said the visiting team manager.
