Injury toll hurts Oakland Raiders’ chances against the Green Bay Packers – NFL News
Oakland Raiders have much to worry about as three of their most efficient players missed practice this Wednesday. It comes as a blow for the Raiders who will be facing the undefeated Green Bay Packers this weekend.
Amid all the preparations, the injury toll that has been mounting with time will likely hit them hard. Running back Darren McFadden and wide receivers Jacoby Ford and Denarius Moore all missed practice with injuries that are keeping
them sidelined.
McFadden had injured his right leg with a foot sprain. The sprain occurred while he was playing against the Kansas City Chiefs in the first quarter of the game. The injury has made him miss five straight games. Earlier when he
missed out the game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, it was being expected that he would make it against the Packers in week 14. However things have not changed much as it is still unclear when McFadden will be back to practice.
Although there is Michael Bush with whom the Raiders may content with in the absence of McFadden, but still an important game against the strong Packers would certainly require McFadden’s presence. Bush performed well against the
chargers and Chicago Bears and managed a touchdown in both the games.
Jacoby Ford was out of action with a left foot injury while Denarius Moore too kept off the field with a right foot injury. The injuries mar the Raiders’ offence line. Ford has missed three straight games while Moore has missed
the last two games.
Raiders’ Head Coach Hue Jackson was optimistic that the three players were making progress. However, he could not come up with a date as to when the players would return to the field. Jackson said that it had been a tough time
with the three players missing out and hoped they would be back soon.
Commenting on the situation, Jackson said, "I've quit trying to put percentages or days or anything on it. What I try to do with this football team is to keep us afloat and just keep playing. When those guys show back up, they're
going to show back up, and I know they will at some point in time, and that's all I can worry about is the guys that are out there practicing and playing, and go check on the guys that are not, and hopefully we can get them back soon and be part of this team."
