Injury update: Bobby Zamora nears his return
Fulham star Bobby Zamora is all set to make his comeback from injury and would return to full training in two weeks time. The player’s rehabilitation programme is on the right track, as his return would come as predicted by the doctors.
It is believed that Zamora would be making his comeback next month, following his recovery from the broken leg while playing against Wolverhampton Wanderers in September, 2010.
"Bobby's got a very detailed programme for the next two or three weeks. He will be finishing off with the physios and doing work specific to his position. Next week we'll get him involved with warm-ups and the technical things with the senior group,” stated
Fulham Coach Mark Hughes.
The Manager expects Zamora to be with the squad next week and continue on with the training until he gains his full fitness. Hughes ruled out the fact that he will be rushing Zamora back into the Starting XI, and said that he will first assess his situation
before handing him a start. According to the coach, when he returns to training, he will consider giving him off-the-bench matches and reserves fixtures so that he can build up his fitness.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zamora-c40983 took a lot of time to get accustomed to life with Fulham, and was the club’s top scorer last season with 19 goals in all competitions. The side has, however, started to find the back of the net more frequently now and with the club facing Tottenham
in the FA Cup tomorrow, Hughes is confident of his strikers. The last time these two sides met was at White Hart Lane, which ended in the Cottagers losing 1-0.
The Manager stated that his side was unfortunate in both the games they had with Spurs and the fixture on New Year’s Day was a competitive one. Both the teams enjoyed possession and made a lot of attacking chances.
Zamora is relishing the chance to make his comeback into the first team of Fulham. The player has been instrumental for the side in recent years and looks forward to helping Fulham achieve a spot in the mid-table.
