I have an HP Photosmart 8250 and I recently had to change the yellow ink cartridge. Well, ever since then, I get the message "Ink System Failure, refer to printer documentation". ERROR 0xc18a0001. Then it tells me to turn the printer off and on .. but it still doesn't work.I have a Photosmart C6280 that got the error 0xC18a0001 with "Ink System Failure" and nothing I tried would fix it. Called HP Support and they said there were lots of things that could cause this. Checked to make sure I had HP cartridges first, which they were (from Walmart). Problem was escalated to a senior tech on phone. The secret sequence on this printer was press both Print photo and RedEye buttons then RedEye then PrintPhoto then RedEye which would get you into the Support screen. From there right arrow to system config the ok then hardware error then ok then clear okay. Power off and it reset the error condition. If you are under warranty then call HP support it is worth it. If not, then navagate the support screen carefully. Hope this helps the next guy. cheers...cgb
