Inline to Ice skating Transition?

Question

I am starting ice hockey and was wondering how different ice skating feels from inline skating. I can skate forwards and backwards on inline skates, and I know the mechanics for ice skating are the same, but how different does it feel?

well i did the same thing, but with figure skates not hockey skates.

for me the roller blading really helped. it doesn't feel that different but the edges are much different. since i knew how to go backward on roller blades, i knew how to go backwards on ice skates which helped me learn faster.
