My wife filed for me and i got an appointment at Juarez, however i have heard many horror stories.I have never been convicted of any crime, i have been in the U.S. since 1990 and attended junior high and high school as well.I do not drink nor do drugs or are part of any gang. I have two kids (2 and 4) and have a decent job. i have never asked for any type of government help plus my family income exceeds $80000 a year. What are the possibilities of them denying the visa. What would be the reasons why I could not get it? If anybody knows or have gone through this please advice me, I get very scared and nervous when the thought of leaving my family crosses my head, please help!!! What should i expect?

  1. a lot of thoes stories are made up some arent look if your mexican  (like me) and dont have papers (not like me) then there might be some difficulties if you can read in spanish i would advise you to read the newspaper spanish ones or go to univision.com you can find a lot of information there you can also do a yahoo search for that

  2. Well, I petioned for my husband.  His interview was in January 28th in Juarez.  Fortunatly everything came out ok.  I advise you to have your paper work well organized.  Take extra copies of your marriage certificate, passport. etc.. because they will ask you for copies. So you won't have to get out of line or just to make the situation easier on you have your copies handy behind your originals.  Also FYI,  you may also schedule you second appt now you don't have to wait for them to do it for you. Actually they no longer do it, they'll give you the # for you to call after the interview.  All you need is your case #, and your name (the beneficiary) its an aprox. 3 min call.  I was scared also for my husband's interview.  I was aware of other cases where the beneficiary had to stay in mexico for a year or sometimes longer. Then they get to go to their second appt in juarez where they give you your card showing you are now legal to come to the USA!!  Now the longest wait  maybe 1-3 months. My husband had to wait 2 months for his second appt after his interview.  I have friends that also went to through this same situation  and their husband's stayed 1-2-3 months.     Now the process isn't as long compared to 1 yr ago.  Honestly, they don't care how much income comes in or if you or someone in your family is handicapped, or if you're the primery household provider  and your family depends on you. You will have to wait some time in mexico before they tell you wether or not you get legalized.  If your criminal record is clean in usa and in mexico and you have everything in order you shouldn't have a problem.    On the second interview appt. that is when you pay your fee, turn a hardship letter-inwhich you wife has to write describing what hardship will she follow if you don't become legalize.  And another form which I can not recall the name at the moment. It's the day when they tell you either yes or no. Hope you find this helpful.
