I asked a question previously about children and their urges for pushbuttons, toggle switches and steering wheels. I think that steering wheels come from the twist that you have to give a big rock to move it. This would have lead to the idea of the wheel (instead of tree logs) and that moving rocks is/was an important part of our lifes. Today we don't move rocks but drive cars (steering wheel). Thus Ford's ad "Like a rock" hits an ancient nerve. Does this sound reasonable? Thanks.
