OK so its easter time and there is alot of chocolate to be eaten. A kid wore a shirt that said "there is an average of 8 insect legs in a chocolate bar!" I had just had a chocolate bar that morning and i've had them all my life so i was wondering..... is that true?!?

  1. There is a certain amount of what they call "filth" allowed in any food product.  They include rodent excretia, insect fragments, larvae, and rodent hairs.  In 8 ounces of chocolate, 150 insect fragments and 4 rodent hairs are permitted.  See  http://books.google.com/books?id=ujQ27KN...

  2. nothing to worry aboot. I mean  no were is perfect... or they wouldn't be selling chocolate bars (not saying they bad  i love em)

There might be 1 insect tops that gets smashed into the press for a huge sectoin for an entire town.. but very unlikely..

If the insects were bad.. then they would not be deemed a treat, and served as a dessert some places, and the science centers would not sell them for fear of being un sanitary.

Eh worse comes to worse (bad moto to live by)  its an extra thing that you didn't have to pay for enjoy it... (DO NOT LIVE BY THIS STATEMENT)

  3. duh, i don,t think so.

  4. More than likely a little exaggerated, but I'm sure a leg makes it in once in awhile.  Don't worry, I've had chocolate covered ants before, they taste like nestle crunch.
