How do I recite it?

When do I recite it?

And do you recite it for every kind of prayer? (fardth, sunnah, nawafil, etc.)

Salaam. =]

  1. Women don't need to say iqama before praying, but men should say it before all prayers, even if they are praying alone at home.

  2. The word iqama (Arabic: إقامة) refers to the second call to Islamic Prayer, given immediately before the prayer begins. Generally speaking, the iqama is given more quickly and in a more monotone fashion, as compared to the adhan. It differs from the first call to prayer, the adhan in only one place (line 6, below):

God is Greatest, God is Greatest (twice),

I assert that there is no god but Allah (twice),

I assert that Muhammad is the Messenger of God (twice),

Come to the prayer (twice), حي على الصلاة hayyā `alā-s-salat

Come to salvation (twice), حي على الفلاح hayyā `alā-l-falāh

Stand for prayer (twice)

God is Greatest, God is Greatest (twice),

There is no god but Allah

  3. Iqma is only for pardth prayer with jummat!!

    here is

    ALLAHO-AKBAR-U'LLAHO-AKBAR

    ASH-HADU-ANLAA-ILAHA ILL'ALLAH

    ASH-HADU-ANNA-MUHAMMADAN RASOUL-U-LLAH

    HA-YA-ALA-SSALAH

    HA-YA ALA-LFALAH

    QAD QAMATU-SSALAH

    QAD QAMATU-SSALAH

    ALLAHO-AKBAR-U'LLAHO-AKBAR

    LAA-ILAHA ILL'ALLAH!!

  4. Iqama is the second call for a prayer that is done in Jama'ah (in groups)

its purpose is to announce to people that the prayer is about to start.

You don't need to do it if you are praying alone.

The words iqamah is derived from standing up (or starting up).

Athan is the first call for prayer. Athan is longer than Iqamah. Its purpose is to let people know that the prayer timing has started. So, they can start getting ready for Wudu. Iqama is announcement to start Jama'ah.

  5. you recite the iqaamah when ur in jama'ah

some1 says it after the athaan , b4 the prayer or jama'ah starts
