Thanks for past suggestions. Separation for time outs, feliway calming spray($60), consult to vet for both of them ($110), they are both fine not sick. But if they come in contact with each other one hisses and runs off and other chases then there is a fight, noisy and fur goes every where.

More suggestions please to get them happy and back together. As they are and have been for 3 years house cats. ( sisters )

  1. Are they both desexed?  Is there possible a tom prowling around outside causing them to get a bit uppity with each other?

I think all you can do is keep an eye on them and make sure that it's not just the one being picked on and beaten up.  Put out seperate bowls for their food so they're not competing over dinner.  Make sure there's no scratches or lesions from the fights (these can get infected and cause abcesses).  Maybe they'll sort it out themselves.

  2. You're taking everything way too seriously...Do you actually think that one cat will kill the other ?

Here's the thing...There's a lot of jealousy going on here...One of the cats is more doninant than the other...

Why not just let them fight it out ? They won't kill eachother, I promise !!

Give both cats EQUAL attention and the dominant one will come out on top...Just like nature intended...

You're allowing yourself to stress way too much over something that literally will work itself out if you let it... o.k. ?

  3. cats only fight for three reasons , territory (tom cats) , food (all cats),

    or attentsion (all cats)

  4. if they aren't fixed (spayed and neutered) then they will fight more because that's what our cats do...my moms cat isn't fixed and they fight everyday and stripey (pookie) has been here for way over a year...so as to the other persons comment i doubt they will just resolve this issue by themselves...pookie and blue chase each other and jump on each other and knock stuff down...blue used to start all the fights but ive noticed that now pookie is starting some of them as she is now calling this her home and they're both trying to claim it...and on the other users comments...females are actually more territorial than males if you do some research...and one being fixed and the other one not being fixed just makes things worse in any situation...and in heat season the fighting gets much worse...they wont hurt each other very badly usually...unless they are two unaltered toms or a spayed female and a unaltered tom...two females don't fight as bad from what ive seen because that's what we have and nobody ever gets hurt...a few nips and bites every now and then..even if they do continue to fight nobody will kill each other as the other user said...its nothing to worry about

  5. Maybe try feeding them together or even having them share treats off the same plate. It helped my cats bond in a BIG way. I think it's because they're happy when they're eating, so when they eat together they associate each other with a happy feeling. There's also a food bowl I keep in the kitchen that they both eat out of. I also play with them at the same time when we were all just hanging out in the living room relaxing. I figured sharing in an activity would help, and it has. I really think cats just have to work things out on their own according to their instincts.  I'll keep thinking and try to come up with some other ideas for you

  6. i have two 15 year olds that still fight, after 15 years.

as long as they dont run into each other, they are fine.
