Inside refrigerator light. I just had a new refrigerator installed. Everything functions fine

I just had a new refrigerator installed. Everything functions fine except that the inside light does not illuminate when the door is opened. The only reference I see in the manual is to replacing the light bulb after it burns out. In this case, it's brand new. There must be a simple explanation or fix, but I can't come up with it.
