My lil boy is 17 month old, and both me and his dad is ready to start potty training him. I heard that boys are a lil harder than girls and I dont want him to be 2 -3 years old and not trained. Im not trying to buy diapers forever. So what are some tips? We pulled the potty out last night for the first time and sat him on there. He seemed content sitting, he didnt cry.

  1. ~ I'm sorry but he's just too young to fully grasp potty training.

  2. 17 months is kinda early. And usually you want the child to decide when to sit on the potty, you really shouldn't decide that for him.

My daughter was potty trained on her 3rd birthday, it's not a big deal. It really isn't. I beg to differ that girls are easier, my son was potty trained by time his 2nd birthday rolled around. He was a piece of cake.

Don't get mad when he wets himself, just let it roll of your back. Accidents happen.

  3. way to young for most kids. It'll cause more stress for you and for the child to try this so early.

  4. He has to be ready..not you.  He is too young.  Most Dr's suggest not to even try before the age of 2.  He won't have bladder control until around then.

  6. That's way too young.  What's the big rush?  If you can't afford the diapers, why did have a baby to begin with?
