Inspiron 1720 second ram slot??

I can't seem to find a second ram slot on my inspiron 1720, it says underneath the first ram slot "ddr2 only", now i thought you needed two ram slots for ddr2 to work, do I even have a second ram slot???

  1. Below is the link to the manual for you laptop.

    You do have 2 slots.  One is under the cover on the bottom of the laptop (probably the one you have found.  This is slot B)  -- see page 148 and 149.

    Slot A is actually located under the keyboard. -- See page 150-152


  2. On the 1720, there are two slots. Like most Dell laptops, one slot (DIMM B) is behind the memory cover on the bottom of the unit. DIMM A is located under the keyboard.

    another one is under keyboard, remove the keyboard and you will see it.

    kinda idiot why not dell just put 2 ram at the bottom!

    the laptop is big, planty of free space to fit in that 2 little ram.

    anyway that is the way it is.
