the only way i can keep my dell working is to have it plugged in...

and then it will never charge at all...

you can have it plugged in for as long as you want but it will simply not charge...

it only happened a while ago too so what could be causing?

what can i do so i can have my laptop charge?

it kinda isn't a laptop if I'm forced to have it plugged in all the time... lol

Thank You so much!

  1. Either time for a new battery or time for a new charger.

  2. you need to get a new battery.

  3. Try doing a BIOS update from www.support.dell.com; if that does not work then you may have to get a replacement battery

  4. This may sound dumb, but it works.

take the battery out of your lappy then wrap it in a towel [battery]

then chuck it in the freezer for two days. take it out and let it get back to room temperature and put it back in the lappy and charge normally.

This helps the battery lose the memory that you trained it by not running the lappy off battery frequently enough

  5. it seem the battery broken, notebook has two blocks of power supply models, one is direct power supply for mainboard (it means not need battery only need external power supply),  the other is charge battery, may be this block broken.
