I have a 2000 accord i bought a kenwood kdc-138 cd player and a wiring harness. Theres a blue wire from the deck wire which is labeled antenna and theres 2 blue wires on the wiring harness one thats solid blue and the other has a white stripe. What one would i connect the deck wire to??

Also i am installing an amp and theres a blue wire thats suppose to connect to the amp then to the deck but i dont know which wire i connect it to..would it be the remaining blue wire thats left?

I dont know if i installed the wires wrong but when i detach the face on the deck and put it back on, the bass treble, etc settings dont stay and i have to set them back. What do you think is causeing that?

Can anyone help answer my questions!! Thank you if you respond!

  1. The solid blue is the one you want  to connect. (the white stripe means its a negative/ ground)

The blue wire on amps are usually a power source. Meaning, if you install a power switch, you can turn your amp on/off.

That should not be wired into your cd player at all.

Sounds like you don't have an active power line to your cd player.  Which will cause all your settings to reset.  I'd check your yellow wire connection, since yellow is usually active power.

  2. Here's the tricky part with a Kenwood KDC-138:  the blue wire doesn't do anything at all.  Kenwood uses the same wire plug for a variety of different decks, but on the entry-level models, there's no separate output for a power antenna.  Your owner's manual should confirm this.

The Kenwood's blue/white wire should be connected to the blue wire AND the blue/white wire in the adapter harness, AND the blue remote wire to your after-market amp.  The Kenwood's blue wire should not be connected to anything.

If you're losing your settings when the deck is powered off, that's a different issue.   The yellow wire needs to be connected to a voltage source that doesn't vary with the key position.  The red wire needs to be connected to a voltage source that turns on and off with the key.  If these connections are reversed, it will cause your problem.
