Question:

Install catback exhaust myself or have a professional do it?

I could install my new catback exhaust system relatively easily. All that is involved is sawing off the old one and clamping on the new one.

However, I have heard that professionals will weld it together. Is this safer and more worth it to have it professionally done w/ welding?

A lot of people install catbacks by themselves. Having it professionally done would cost me about $150-$200.

  1. Have it done professionally. If it rattles, they have to fix it. Besides welding seals the pipes, no chance for an exaust leak.

  2. if it is a good quality kit, it will disconnect at some convient place and have provisions for clamping on.

nothing wrong with clamps as long as they are used properly.

a good quality system will use the factory hangers so rattle will not be a problem.

save yourself a few dollars and invest in beer for your friends.
